[PSIFF] Naomi Watts received her 2nd Desert Palm Achievement Award and a most touching introduction from Tom Holland

The 24th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) presented Naomi Watts with the Desert Palm Achievement Actress Award (her 2nd) at its Awards Gala today on Sat, Jan 5. The presenter was none but her young co-star Tom Holland of their film "The Impossible".

The best intro, however, had to go to 16-year-old Tom Holland who intro'd his "Impossible" co-star Watts. Holland admitted of all of Watts' great performances his dad had only let him see "King Kong" and while they spent six weeks shooting in a water tank he didn't know it was "difficult" because he actually "loved it" (Watts later said she thinks she "aged 20 years in that tank"). Most important, this was Holland's first film role and he sweetly noted, "From the moment I met you, you took my hand and you never let go." Cue the "awwww" from the audience.

Both speeches are fantastic! Naomi Watts' speech is one which moves and wows and I would say one of the best kinds of speeches people would want to watch and hear on Golden Globe or Oscar night.

Naomi outperforms herself in this speech, it's awesome! And she once again surprises everyone that she is such a good speaker on stage. Amazing!

She is so natural, and makes it look like so easy as if she needs neither a rehearsal nor a note to refer to when necessary. Bravo!

When she walked up to the stage, gosh, her pose is so full of confidence...and then she delivered her speech, O my God, she ruled the stage, and she is a winner! This year's Oscar winner.
