BFF Naomi Watts & Nicole Kidman launched stage kiss at The Crystal Award for Excellence in Film

Naomi watts and BFF Nicole Kidman have given their best Madonna and Britney kiss impersonation at an awards show in Los Angeles while Naomi presents The Crystal Award for Excellence in Film to Nicole.

The annual event is hosted by Max Mara, BMW of North America, and Tiffany & Co. at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza on June 16, 2015 in Century City, California and is an annual fundraising dinner for educational and philanthropic programs and celebrates creative and groundbreaking women who have excelled at their chosen fields.

Watts and Kidman, who are now two of the most popular and power members of the Gumnut Mafia in Hollywood, met on set of the Australian film Flirting and have been friends since the early 1990s.

The last time they appeared on stage together was the G'Day USA celebrations in February where they drank champagne and toasted to their 24-years of friendship.

Accepting her award, Kidman spoke about female empowerment and her own career regrets. Kidman said that at age 14, future Oscar winner Jane Campion offered her a role in a student film, A Girl's Own Story, which would go on to be screened at Cannes. Kidman turned down the part, however, because she was scared. "My excuse was that I had final exams to study for, but the truth is the part would have required me to appear up on the screen wearing a shower cap and kissing a girl ... I wanted to be the kind of actress with long flowing hair [who] kissed boys ... I was not ready to do the kind of work that threatened anybody," she said. "Well, today I know better and I say, 'Jane, if you're out there ... I'm ready to don this cap.'"

She really meant it, and pulled a shower cap out of her purse right there on the dais. Ever the good friend, Watts was there to oblige and helped Kidman recreate the sceen she never got to star in herself.
