[Article] Liev Schreiber: Naomi keeps me calm

Liev Schreiber relies on Naomi Watts to stop him losing it around people.

The 47-year-old and the blonde actress, 46, have been together since 2005 and are known as one of the strongest couples in Hollywood.

Ten years on they have sons Samuel and Alexander together and Liev feels lucky to have Naomi by his side, especially when he gets frustrated by paparazzi invading their privacy.

"I was about to lose it, and then Naomi reminded me about the kids. They're not going to remember why Dad went nuts; they're just going to remember that Dad went nuts, and it was scary. You can't act the same," he explained to mensjournal.com.

"For a man who is an alpha male and really wants to protect his family, he's learned to keep that part of him at bay... Most of my life I've spent pushing people away. Both stars have an ever-busy work schedule, with Naomi boasting an impressive upcoming six movies and Liev working on his popular TV show Ray Donovan as well as filming features.

The handsome actor feels more at home on the small screen and stage, having previously starred in shows such as Shakespeare's Hamlet.

"I really never thought I was that good at film. And honestly still don't," he shrugged. "My strength is language. My background is monologues and a certain kind of Brechtian [term used for the work of Bertolt Brecht] spin on theatre."
