Naomi Watts is to star as Marilyn Monroe, according to reports, in an "imagined memoir" of the Hollywood icon's life.
The King Kong actress is to play the screen beauty in Blonde, a film adaptation of the novel by Joyce Carol Oates, according to New Zealand movie blog Stuff.com.
The movie will not be a straight biopic but is described as an "imagined memoir" about Marilyn, and apparently plays with history and delves into the star's mind as Oates imagined it to be.
Blonde is reportedly set to start filming in January, despite another Marilyn movie in the works.
