Holiday in Bondi Beach - Dec 23, 2010

Enjoying a good time down under, Naomi and Liev were spotted doing their own thing on Bondi Beach in Australia yesterday (Dec 23) with Liev appearing to be having a run-in with Johnny Law as he received a ticket from a police officer while riding his red motor scooter, and Naomi joining her parents for some holiday retail therapy at a nearby mall, looking cute and casual in a blue and white printed dress.

[Article] Family fun for Naomi Watts

The Daily Telegraph, Dec 24, 2010

NAOMI Watts has returned home for Christmas to attend the wedding of a friend and give her young sons Sasha, 3, and Samuel, 2, a welcome break from the New York chill.

Watts and her husband, actor Liev Schreiber, have spent every day at the beach since flying into Sydney earlier this week, yesterday catching up with some friends at Bronte.

The actress is here to attend the wedding of her long-time film publicist friend Emma Cooper, who will marry at Taronga Zoo next week.

Cooper, who was friends with Watts and Heath Ledger during their ill-fated romance, is to marry film and television writer Harry Cripps. Cripps was previously married to actress Sarah Chadwick.

Close friends and likely wedding guests include Anthony LaPaglia and Gia Carides, Simon Baker and Rebecca Rigg, Lisa Hensley, muso Tim Freedman and comedian Mary Coustas.

The ceremony will take place at a location close to Cooper's heart - her father Guy was the zoo's director for years.

But yesterday Cooper's six-month-old son Casper was having a play date with Sasha and Sam and spending time with his godparents, Watts and Schreiber.

After the beach visit, Schreiber beat a hasty retreat to Camperdown, where he stuck his head into enthusiasts' bike shop Deus Ex Machina to try one of the customised 1950s-styled one-cylinder bikes favoured by Orlando Bloom when in town.

[Newscast] "The Impossible" update

Filming stops after Ewan McGregor stand-in sends him 'death ode'

Alistair Foster, Showbusiness Correspondent
23 Dec 2010

A Hollywood shoot was halted after Ewan McGregor received a death threat in verse from his stand-in.

The star was in Thailand filming The Impossible, about the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami, when the man was found in his trailer writing a death ode. It included a line about the author facing McGregor, 39, "twisting the knife as I look into your eyes".

The American stand-in, who lives in Thailand, was being paid about £60 a day. Stand-ins take an actor's place when the camera team are setting up a scene.

A member of production crew Santa Films said: "He looked a little wide-eyed and preoccupied. The producers decided he was a serious risk. We could not call Thai police because he had only written poetry, and they would be unlikely to understand. There was no confrontation. The actor was told he ... would be called when it was time. He was not called.

"I understand he later applied for a position on Scorpion King 3. I hope there is no further problem."

The scare happened in Phang-na, which was devastated by the tsunami. In The Impossible, directed by Juan Antonio Bayona, McGregor and Naomi Watts play a couple on holiday with their sons when disaster strikes.
