Arrival at Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport -Jan 25

Naomi and Liev arrived at the Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport with their two children on Jan 25 to begin taking a short vacation, and along the way attending the Aussie Oscars AACTAs on Tue Jan 31. As usual her outfit is casual but stylish and she is all glowing with happy smiles.

Naomi Watts and Liev Schrieber had their sunglasses firmly in place after stepping off the plane and expecting some Australian sunshine.

But the couple, along with their children Alexander (known as Sasha) and Sammy, touched down in Sydney and were greeted by a rather dismal rainy afternoon.

But alas, when one belongs to a power duo of Hollywood A-listers, there are plenty of assistants on hand to hold umbrellas and keep those Tinseltown locks free from damp frizz.

The King Kong actress radiated a motherly smile, looking elated to have some time with the family.

Dressed casually in cutoff trousers, gold trainers, an androgynous blazer and a trilby, Naomi appeared in high spirits, despite her new film J Edgar being snubbed by the Oscars.

The blonde beauty stars alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in Clint Eastwood's biopic of the FBI detective.

However, despite being nominated for a Golden Globe and two Screen Actors Guild Awards, the film (which also stars Judi Dench and Ed Westwick) received no nominations for the Academy Awards.

Despite the trip back to Oz, it can hardly be seen as a hiatus for the hardworking pair.

Naomi still has three projects on her radar, currently promoting Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig film Dream House, as well as Ewan McGregor movie The Impossible and a new comedy Movie 43.

Liev meanwhile has just finished working on Goon with Seann William Scott, a Toni Collette production called Mental and a thriller with Kate Hudson titled The Reluctant Fundamentalist.

But Naomi insists they still see their children more than the average working parent.

'No matter what, mothers will always punish themselves if they work. Liev and I try to take turns [to make films] and it’s worked so far. We’ve probably only overlapped by a couple of weeks once or twice which is very fortunate because our family is the most important thing.

'Our children go everywhere with us. But then my sister-in-law, who works at least 10 hours a day, only gets to see her daughter for two hours in the morning and then she’s asleep at night when she comes home. So we probably spend more time with our kids than the average person.'

Naomi added: 'Luckily our children are still young and at the age where it doesn’t matter if they miss a bit of pre-school or nursery.

'They learn on the road with us... They’ll never forget all these adventures. But when it comes to them being in proper school, we’ll have to stay more in one place.'
