Charles Grodin is returning to the big screen, playing Naomi Watts' father in Noah Baumbach's indie "While We're Young".
Watts and Ben Stiller star as a married couple that strikes up an unlikely friendship with a free-spirited younger couple, to be played by Adam Driver ("Girls") and Amanda Seyfried ("Lovelace").
Adam Horovitz, aka Ad-Rock of the Beastie Boys, is expected to co-star as a married friend of Stiller and Watts.
Baumbach will direct the long-gestating project from his own original screenplay. Scott Rudin and Eli Bush are producing the movie, which will start production this fall in New York.

[NW2005 1stLOOK] 'Diana' a royal role for Naomi Watts - exclusive new stills from the film
Playing the beloved princess was the ultimate acting challenge.
Yes, Prince George has arrived. And this fall, his late grandmother makes it to theaters, as embodied by Naomi Watts.
The actress, who earned Oscar nominations for The Impossible and 21 Grams, tackles Princess Diana, in a drama that examines the last two years in the Princess of Wales' life. In Diana, opening in October, Watts transforms into the beloved royal to explore her campaign against land mines and delve into her relationships with surgeon Hasnat Khan (Naveen Andrews) and Dodi Fayed (Cas Anvar).
"I was nervous going into it and tried my best to say no a couple of times. But I wasn't at peace with that no. I guess I wanted to do it for all the reasons I was against it — the idea of doing this transformation and telling the story of someone who's wildly famous, albeit doing it in a sensitive way. She's a fascinating woman with a fascinating story that obviously ended in such tragedy," says Watts.

Watts, 44, didn't want to impersonate Diana in the film, which is directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel and inspired by the book Diana: Her Last Love by Kate Snell. She wanted to discover a unique side of her. "That was why I liked the script. It was a piece of the story I knew nothing about. I learned about it through extensive research. It's hard to discern the truth about this woman. There's so much information available. It becomes very confusing. I had to trust the story. There are facts that the story has been built around," she says.......

[NW2005 1stLOOK] Naomi Watts on the set of St. Vincent De Van Nuys on Jul 29, 2013
...with Bill Murray.

What would Diana say about Naomi Watts in her latest film?
Not sure what Princess Diana would have to say about Naomi Watts’ latest look.
The 44-year-old actress will play Diana in a new biopic documenting her romance with heart and lung surgeon Hasnat Khan later this year, but swapped the tiaras for the tawdry on in New York on Tuesday.
Indeed, Naomi is currently filming comedy St. Vincent de Van Nuys, in which she plays a heavily pregnant Russian prostitute – hardly Kensington Palace material.
But while little is known about the new Theodore Melfi film, one thing that’s a given is the character’s completely inappropriate choice of maternity wear.
As the Australian actress strutted around the outdoor set in a pair of raunchy leather boots, the lacy black mini-dress she wore clung to her fake baby bump like a second skin.
The look was completed by a cheap looking denim jacket with tacky studded detail around the collar, while a pair of plastic sunglasses shielded her eyes from the sun.
The actress – who has two sons with partner Live Schreiber – appeared to be rather proud of her characters pregnant status, often walking around set with her hands on her hips and her distended stomach jutting out.
Naomi was joined on set by co-star Bill Murray, who sported an equally down-at-heel outfit comprised of an ill-fitting shirt, printed t-shirt and baggy, shapeless shorts for his role as a hedonistic war veteran.
The new film, which also stars Melissa McCarthy and Chris O’Dowd, is expected to hit cinemas next year, and while it’s markedly different from the forthcoming Diana biopic, insiders are already tipping it for Oscar contention.

[Naomi Watts Daily] Walking Bob with a colorful flair July 25, 2013
That's a wrap! Naomi Watts even looks stylish while walking her dog as she shows off slim figure in colourful dress
Naomi Watts turned heads as she walked her dog wearing a vibrant red and purple spotted dress.
The 44-year-old looked stunning as she took a stroll in New York on Thursday with her 11-year-old Yorkshire Terrier Bob.

The Impossible actress wore a short wrap-dress from Banana Republic’s Issa London Collection.
She teamed the dress with a pair of canary yellow heeled sandals, aviator sunglasses and a tan handbag.
Her bleached blonde bob haircut looked styled to perfection and the pale-skinned star also sported a hint of a tan.
Her pooch looked equally stylish, sporting a pale blue lead and matching collar.
He seemed a little camera shy at one point, appearing to be distracted by the sights and smells of the Big Apple and resisting the lead.
Naomi adopted the dog as a puppy during her two-year relationship with Heath Ledger, who died in 2008.
