Australian actress Naomi Watts arrives at the city of Alicante, where for the next few weeks will participate in the filming of The Impossible, who stars alongside Ewan McGregor, as confirmed by sources in the cinema complex Ciudad de la Luz. The Impossible is directed by Spanish director Juan Antonio Bayona, and show the devastating tsunami that hit Southeast Asia in 2004, focusing on what happened in Thailand.

The film is co-starring Scottish actor Ewan McGregor, who will also come to Alicante in "short dates", as detailed Vice President of the Generalitat Valenciana, Gerardo Camps, during his visit to the studios of City of Light where he carried out the shooting of this production. Bayonne repeated this time with much of the Spanish team that accompanied him on his debut, the hit The Orphanage. Between them is again Sergio G. Sanchez, who signs the script that is set the hard events in Thailand in late 2004. A tsunami that left nearly 300,000 dead and will face Bayonne taking as its starting point a true story.

To quote the director himself 'the film is a challenge for the whole team, from a standpoint of both technical and emotional, and is a bid to make European cinema from Spain ambitious, quality and competitive in the international market.

Naomi Watts, star of films like Eastern Promises and King Kong and that soon we will see in You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger (the new Woody Allen's) and Ewan McGregor, star of the latest Star Wars trilogy and that just came out. The writer (the latter by Roman Polanski) will star in this film that has not a release date. The couple had worked together before on Stay, an unusual psychological thriller directed by Marc Forster.
