The 7th Annual Chanel Tribeca Film Festival Artists Dinner is one of the most prestigious events in a Manhattanite's calendar so it's vital to try and look your best for it.
This year, however, all wannabe show-stealers need not apply, as the ever fragrant Naomi Watts outbloomed a bank of roses... and all other attendees at the bash.
She chose a killer outfit; though typical of the 43-year-old it was subtle in the manner with which it slayed the competition.
She donned a black outfit, that was riven throughout with metallic detail, which reached an apogee in her boots - a stunning choice for the event, as they gave her edge over all the Louboutin-clad traditionistas.
Watts could teach a few youngsters about style and elegance, because the talented actress can work an chic ensemble for both the day and the night.
The J.Edgar star's looked casual and stylish as she rode her bike through New York.

If her reputation didn't precede her, you'd assume she was much younger.
But for the evening, Watts was all woman.
The blonde, who was born in Shoreham in Kent, England and raised in Australia, shone in the almost gothic ensemble.
She was joined by her partner Liev Schreiber, Robert De Niro and Grace Hightower, Kim Cattrall, Alexa Chung and Liv Tyler.
The King Kong star worked up glow by cycling in the city earlier in the day.
Watts, who is working on an untitled film with the Farrelly brothers, could be chauffeur-driven wherever she wants, but Naomi prefers to travel light.
She was spotted enjoying a bike ride with her eldest son Alexander 'Sasha' Pete.
Carrying a large rucksack in her bicycle's basket, and her child in a safety seat behind her, Watts looked happy and relaxed as she travelled along the busy streets.
Watts must have been dropping the four-year-old off to pre-school as she was later seen cycling alone without her blazer on.
