British-Australian actress and film producer, Naomi Watts, gave a brief media Q& A Thursday morning in Sedona, right after she participated in a panel discussion on “Acting into Activism: Using fame and celebrity to do good,” one of many events during the 20th annual Sedona International Film Festival.
In addition to many other honors, Watts received an Oscar nomination for her performance in “The Impossible,” the 2012 film about the tsunami that devastated the Pacific Basin in the winter of 2004. The actress said she has been trying to come to Sedona for several years. “It’s always nice to come to beautiful places,” she said. Watts said regional festivals like the SIFF attract very supportive audiences. “It’s great way to have a platform for a film,” she said. “It’s hard to stay in there and build audience awareness. It’s a great opportunity to launch a film.”
The festival started Feb. 22 and will run all day through March 2 at three theaters in Sedona. Two films starring Naomi Watts in the lead "Diana" and "Adore" would be major highlights of the festival.
Over nine days this year, about 150 films in a wide range of categories, from world cinema to documentaries to family films and classics will have been screened. Many of the showing have been sold-out shows.

"Diana" and "Adore" were shown at the festival as a "Naomi Watts' Week" special feature.
