Maria Belon: "If not give the Oscar to Naomi Watts, stealing one and I give it."
The woman who inspired 'The impossible' drama survived the tsunami that struck Southeast Asia in 2004, in which the film is based.
On December 26, 2004, just prior to sweeping it the tsunami that struck Southeast Asia, Maria Belon was reading 'The shadow of the wind' Carlos Ruiz Zafon in the resort of Phuket where he spent Christmas with her husband, Quique, and his three sons, Lucas (10 years), Thomas (8) and Simon (5). A roar interrupted the reading.
She is the real Maria de 'The impossible' film, Juan Antonio Bayona which are spraying the box office. Performed on the screen by Naomi Watts, confesses that "he had dreamed before tsunamis", and that in those dreams, "the wave swallow my children".

Actually, she should have received the Oscar for Mulholland Dr., and The Painted Veil, to say the least.
And the Fair Game, IMO.
I am glad to hear the she and her family are safe.
