NOOSAVILLE - chef David Rayner might not have been star-struck by Naomi Watts, but he was definitely wowed by her warmth.
After being flown to LA to cook a pre-Oscar lunch for the Hollywood star in her home last month, he was invited back with celebrity chef Luke Mangan to cook an Oscar eve dinner.
He said the Australian actor was the epitome of charm.
"She is just a beautiful person," Mr Rayner said.
"She is down to earth. She loved having a couple of Aussie chefs in her kitchen.
"She spent a lot of time in the kitchen with us and had a glass of champagne with us.
"She wanted to talk about Australia, wanted to know where I was from."
When he wasn't cooking, Mr Rayner managed to get to 18 LA restaurants in a quest to see style and trends with a view to seeing if they would work on the Sunshine Coast.
